We are thrilled to announce our Fall 2024 Movie Makers and Studio A Acting Company classes. We have some brand new classes, including an advanced movie making class, and a Dungeons & Dragons session! Check out all of the classes below!

YOUNGER MOVIE MAKING (FULL)
10 Weeks
Students work together to create their very own movie! Each week our movie makers will participate in the many behind the scenes aspects of filmmaking: writing, directing, camera work, set design, costumes, etc. And of course everyone has the opportunity to be in front of the camera and be one of the stars of the movie! At the end of our sessions we come together and watch the finished film on a large outdoor screen to celebrate all of their hard work. And everyone gets a link to download the movie to keep.
Ages 6-12: Wednesdays, 4pm – 5:30pm; begins September 11 (This class is FULL. Melissa will be adding a 2nd class. Contact us directly for info.)

OLDER MOVIE MAKING
10 Weeks

OLDER GROUP Ages 11-17: Saturdays 10am – 12pm; begins September 21
Cost: $500
(NEW CLASS) ADVANCED MOVIE MAKING
*This is for more experienced young filmmakers who want to advance their skills and make a short film to send to film festivals. In this class we will have each student choose two jobs to focus on and give them advanced training in those particular jobs. We will do everything from writing the script to editing it (we won’t have our professional editor edit this one, instead a student will do it, with a professional that will tweak it). Melissa will be the supervisor/producer but she won’t film any of the scenes. This movie will be fully created by the teens at an advanced level. Our finished short film will be sent to film festivals around the country!

BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE ACTING CLASS
10 Weeks
Through games, exercises, monologues and scene work, students will practice and develop strong acting techniques, building blocks to the advanced acting classes. These techniques work for both theater and film! Students will learn about the methods of Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, as well as tips and tricks to build confidence and other life skills. Limited Space Available!
Ages 10-15: Saturdays 12:30pm – 2pm; begins September 21

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED ACTING CLASS
12 Weeks (with extra rehearsals)
This class will focus on more advanced acting techniques, both for theater and film. Through advanced games, exercises, and scene work, students will continue to develop strong acting skills. Students will learn about the methods of Stanislavski, Sandford Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, as well as life skills that help develop power and confidence. We will put these skills to use as we work on a one-act play that will be performed at the end of our session in our very own Black Box Theater. Limited Space Available!
Ages: 14-19: Saturdays 2:30pm-4:30pm (extra rehearsal hours will be added nearer to our performance); begins September 21

(NEW CLASS) DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Come play a 10 week professional game of D&D! Run by two very experienced DMs. Geraud Staton, who has run games for over 20 years, is also a professional actor who loves storytelling. Michelle Byars, a developmental therapist specializing in neurodiverse children and adults has led games for over a decade. The two together are a dynamic team bringing fun stories, great experiences and an adventure of a lifetime!
Ages 12-18; Mondays 4:30 – 6:30pm; begins September 16th
