Melissa Lozoff, director of Movie Makers, is now offering an intensive acting program for experienced actors, both teens and adults. The class meets 4 hours a week for 10 weeks, as well as a month of rehearsals leading up the their production. The first two hours of each week will focus on acting exercises and techniques. The last half of each class will focus on applying their techniques to their characters from the full length play they will perform at the end of the session. There will be 5 performances in our Studio A Theater.
PROGRAM CURRICULUM: In each class students will learn and develop acting techniques. Students will learn about the methods of Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stella Adler and other acting teachers through demonstrations, exercises and text work.They will also learn about the business side of acting: interview skills, audition techniques, cold readings, etc. Performance Art and mask work will also be explored. The last two hours of class students will put into practice the acting techniques they have learned, and work on their full length play. There is also a month of rehearsals leading up to their 5 performances.
This class will be limited to twelve participants to allow for maximum working time in a focused environment.
