We start by getting to know some of the different elements involved in making a movie: the script, the camera, costumes and props, etc. We’ll play some theater games, and talk about what we like to see when we watch a movie.
Then we begin creating our movie. We think of fun characters we’d like to be, and work together to create the story. Melissa then writes a script based on the kids’ ideas, and shooting begins! The rest of the session is spent making our movie! Everyone takes turns acting, directing, using the camera, and helping with props, costumes and makeup.
At the conclusion of the session on Sunday, May 31, 2020, we will have a premiere party in a real movie theater, so we can watch our movie on the big screen! Every participant will receive a link to download the movie for their own personal files.
