Saturdays 12:00 – 2:00pm Begins: Feb. 15th |
Class Length: 10 weeks (end date subject to change) |
In this intermediate-level class, students will have the opportunity to learn more about the different aspects of filmmaking: screenwriting, directing, acting for the camera, cinematography, lighting, props/costumes and make-up/special effects. Students will get to explore all these aspects, then get to focus on the ones that most interested them.
We begin with screenwriting, and together write our own original 20-30 minute movie. The first few weeks consist of writing our film and training in all areas of filmmaking. Once our script is finished and cast (everyone who wants to act in the film will get a part), the shooting begins! The rest of the session is spent making our movie! Everyone takes turns acting, directing, using the camera, and helping with props and costumes.
At the conclusion of the session on Sunday, May 31, 2020, we will have a premiere party to watch our movie on the big screen. Every participant will receive a link to download the movie for their own personal files.
